 | Water Crossing Notes: |
Water crossings on the Goose Eye Trail were straightforward and rock hoppable. Both lower crossings on Carlo Col were trickier and required some thought. By that point our feet were pretty wet, so we didn't think *too* much. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Goose Eye blowdowns: ~0.8 miles in, 1.2 ft diameter. 1 mile in, 1 ft diameter, both easy to get over or around. About 2.5 miles in there was a ~ 1 ft diameter blow down about 2 feet off the ground, awkward to step over or under, just above some slabs. There's one final tricky field of 3-4 blowdowns on the Mahoosuc Trail, about halfway between Goose Eye and Carlo. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Would not bring a dog on the ladders and iron rungs portion of Mahoosuc Trail. We chose this for today because our dog was home! |
|
 | Bugs: |
Surprisingly few :) the monarchs and other pollinators are out and about along and near Success Pond Road. |

 | Comments: |
This was a delightful loop! We went clockwise. On the whole, all trails in great shape. Carlo Col was wettest and muddiest, but not too bad. |
