Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: A very long drive in but very doable with mid clearance. Low clearance would probably be okay too but there was once large puddle and some rougher spots here and there that might worry me. 2WD will be fine. Plenty of parking at the boat launch. I was the only one there.

Comments
Comments: 1st hike of the day on my first full day in Houlton. Very easy, straightforward hike and the guidebook’s description was accurate. The road wasn’t too muddy either which was nice. There’s a sign 1.1mi in at the second gate that forbids non-authorized vehicles continuing along the road. The only thing that’s changed since the guidebook was last written is that there’s no longer any sort of herd path or trail behind the tower to ledges. I whacked a short distance to a ledge but there’s no longer much of a view from it which is too bad. Gaia had me at 3.2mi, 500ft of gain, 1hr15min.
