Took free Island Express bus to trailhead and from NE harbor. Parking for about a dozen cars in lot along rt 193, or many cars were also parked along the large shoulder rt 193. |

Trails in great shape, however, re-blazing would be helpful despite cairns above tree-line. A tremendous amount of work must have been undertaken to place all the rock steps into the steep hillside above the trailhead; such wonderful and appreciated work. |

Cooper had a great time. The initial climb is steep and could be a challenge for some dogs, but there are many stone steps. A boost may be needed in a few locations for some pups. No water along the trail, so bring some for pups. |

Another quick hike with some good views over Mount Desert Island. We started at the trail head off Rt 193 and ended by walking into NE harbor. First 1/3 mile is steep, but there are many stone steps nicely set into the hill side. Approaching the summit and across the ridge is over easy to traverse slabs with several view points of the fog rolling in from the ocean. Trails mostly dry, some muddy puddles but they are easy to get around. Recommend taking the counter-clockwise route due to the steep climb from the trailhead. |
