Out and back hike. Tote road on western side of Sugarloaf is closed due to construction, so decided to go strail up Super Quad slope. It gets v steep on upper third. Spectacular views from Sugarloaf. Trail ok over Spaulding with small viewpoint. AT had numerous muddy sections and flowing water from recent rains. Abraham trail from AT junction was beautiful. Rocky section up to summit was spectacular also and ended with 360 degree views.90F today and I stashed water in 2 points along the route, needed lots. I recorded 17.5 miles and 7100' ascent. |
