Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in excellent shape and blazed in blue. Work is underway on one section, and there is a bypass that is a little muddy, but it will likely be great once repaired. Many thanks to the trail maintenance team that has done a great job keeping the trail system in wonderful condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had a great hike. Got a bit muddy due to wet conditions. But the trail is quite gradual and easy for dogs. Lots of other friendly pups on the trail, plus some running water in the by pass section for the thirsty pup. And, big plus, the shop at the summit has dog cookies for sale.
Bugs
Bugs: None
Lost and Found

Comments
Comments: Quick out and back before the coming rain storms; we managed to get back down just as the rain started. Lots of friendly hikers on the trails with the same goal. This is a fairly gradual trail to the summit, and one of the most popular since it follows the auto road to the summit. Trail is clearly marked with blue blazes, but overall the trail is easy to follow. Many of the rock slabs are rough and provide much needed traction; despite the wet, dry or running water present on the slabs. Between slab sections, the trail was dry, wet, covered with running water, and muddy. Worst mud was easy to avoid with some minor erosion in a few places. The summit was engulfed in the clouds, however, we did get a small hazy view on the way down. With the rain predicted for the next several days, the conditions will likely remain unchanged.
