Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bridges, step overs, log bridges
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are in excellent shape. We encountered 2 friendly maintenance groups out working on rock steps and water bars. Thanks so much to these crews keeping these trails is such wonderful condition.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Cooper had a blast. Trails are pretty easy for pups, although they were slippery, even for dogs. Also, we spotted a deer, that may be a distraction to some pups. Plenty of flowing drinking water for pups today.
Bugs
Bugs: Too cold
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a phone in the Megunticook parking area; multicolored wavey form case. It had been run over, so screen was in pretty bad shape. Left in visible spot on rock off to side (no kiosk or other sheltered location available). Hopefully, owner returned to gather.

Comments
Comments: Were dropped at the campsite parking area for a traverse of sorts. We have no car, so wanted to end near town and harbor. Despite the fog that has been lingering for a week or so, there were lots of friendly folk out on the trails. No views, at all today, as expected. But the fog can be intriguing, too. Trails are quite wet, and there are multiple locations with mud that is mostly avoidable, but expect wet shoes by the end. Thankfully, some of the ledges had dried in the minimal wind. Others were covered in flowing water. However, steeper sections in the woods where still wet and required careful foot placement. I am guessing these conditions will be similar for the next week or so.
