Comments
Comments: Did a 9 mile lollipop hike, up and over Mt. Battie, checked out Adam's Lookout, Ocean Lookout, up and over Megunticook, looped over and around Maiden Cliffs, returned via the Jack Williams Trail back up and over Mt. Battie. Amazing weather! No bugs was a huge mental relief after recent hikes further north. By no means wilderness but a beautiful area, reminiscent of Acadia with less crowds. Best views were at Ocean Lookout and around Maiden Cliffs. Trail up Mt. Battie was steep with fun scrambling. Best to summit Battie before the auto road opens at 8:00AM for peace and quiet. Great swimming available at Barrett Cove on Megunticook Lake afterwards.
