Today I visited another new to me summit, Rich's Mountain in Livermore. It is accessible via an ATV trail from the north or south. I took the shorter southern approach today. Starting from Fish Meadow Road, the ATV trail first passes through a field, before joining up with an old road. It then takes a left off of the old road, and climbs steeply to the summit ridge. It follows the ridge for a bit, before a right turn quickly leads to the summit viewpoint. It's just over a mile to the summit, and it's a relatively easy hike. The summit has a nice chair and provides excellent views to the east, across the Androscoggin River Valley. |
