Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Frenchtown Rd. is currently in good shape and is easily navigable by a Honda Accord or similar vehicle. A significant stretch was graded on 6/12/23. There are a couple of brief, rough, rocky sections near the end, but they are easily passable. The 10th edition of the AMC Maine Mtn. Guide indicates to "bear left" two times, at 10.9 and 11.6 miles, which can be confusing as they aren't major intersections at this time. Stay on the primary road all the way to the gate, bearing RIGHT at the MAJOR intersections (between First and Second West Branch Ponds and after Second West Branch Ponds—neither are ponds are visible from the road, but the left rd. at the second fork, IIRC, is labelled "Crossover Rd.).

Comments: AT from Logan Brook Rd. (Frenchtown Rd. approach)
Great out-and-back hike! Drove Frenchtown Rd. to gate where there is plenty of parking. Frenchtown Rd. becomes Logan Brook Rd. on the other side of the gate. AT on the right has some flagging, but could be easy to missing. Look for AT sign on the North side of Logan Brook Rd.
