Comments
Comments: Today I hiked the roughly 12 mile loop over Frye Mountain in Montville. It was a cool and windy day, good for hiking at lower elevations. The trails had many blowdowns, but were well marked and easy to follow. There were some interesting spots along the trails, including the site of the old fire tower, ledgy areas, hemlock forests, and streams, but much of the trail passes through rather uninteresting beech-birch forest. This, combined with the many PUDs along the way, means this was probably a one and done hike for me, although I'm glad that I checked it out!
