Comments
Comments: 3rd redline of the day. The old carriage road was mucky and wet in places. The road switchbacked so grades were pretty easy. The view the guidebook described partway up along the carriage road is signed as Brown Mtn Overlook. The foot rail is just after this and is a bit steeper with some wet slab I believe. The summit was actually in between the first and second viewpoints. There was a pile of snow in the shade immediately before the downed tree “bench”. On my way back down, I completed the loop as shown on Gaia rather than return the same way as the guidebook describes. The snowmobile trail continued to climb a ways and some snow and more wetness and mud appeared as well before it descended back to Thayer Rd. A short road walk south brought me back to my car.
