Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Trivial
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There was at least one mid-sized blowdown on Ring Hill Trail. I think there may have been a number of other blowdowns as well but I don’t recall where. Nothing too bad. There are no signs at trail jcts but all of the trails are well blazed and the map at the base is very helpful. They ask that you take a photo of it with your phone but have some paper maps as well.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: They’re allowed but signs say they must be either on leash or under control and to please pick up after them or move their scat off trail.

Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: 2nd redline of the day. There are other trails here as well but I only hiked the ones needed for redlining… or so I thought. Evidently, I didn’t read very closely and missed Ledge Trail. I hiked the Ring Hill Trail counterclockwise once around and then began up again a short ways until coming to the trail’s southernmost jct with Abner’s Trail which I took to the jct to its end on Peaked Mtn Trail. I followed Peaked Mtn Trail to the summit of Peaked Mtn, explored the ledges around here a little bit with a small bit of scrambling, then followed it all the way back to the parking area. I thought the eastern half of the summit loop was Ledges Trail (quite foolishly really) and so didn’t hike Ledge Trail which is called Harriet’s Path at the trail kiosk.

The trails were mostly dry but had some wet and muddy spots I tried to avoid, probably more so than any of the other hikes I did this day or on Friday. I thought this was a nice little trail system. Gaia had me at 3.6mi, 800ft of gain, just over 1.5hrs. Would’ve been a bit more if I’d have included Ledges Trail/Harriet’s Path which unfortunately I’ll now need to go back for…oops.
