Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None of any significance
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Leach Link Trail - the sign directing hikers off the snowmobile road (about 1/4 mile in from stone house road) was broken off and on the ground. We leaned it up against a tree as best we could but will need to be put back in place. Deer Hills trail - Two blowdowns about halfway up to little Deer Hill. The first is definitely chain saw worthy - large diameter and obscuring the entire trail, we bypassed to the left. The second a few yards up the trail is about knee high but an easy stepover.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Another easy dog hike!
Bugs
Bugs: Didn't see any but coated ourselves in Deet just in case.

Comments
Comments: NOTE: The Cold River is raging so access using the Deer Hills Connector from the Baldfaces trailhead parking is impossible; water is overflowing the entire dam right now and the usual board over the center gap is not present.

Another beautiful hike in Evan's notch with a pleasant walk along the cold river and taking in mountain views from the top and some lower ledges. Snow is gone. Leach Link was dry with a few patches of mud. Deer Hills was almost completely dry the ascent of the ledges was largely dry with just a little wet rock. Frost and Deer Hills bypass were also dry; there is still a lot of leaf cover on deer hills bypass sometimes many inches deep so just keep an eye on the footing. Amazing views from the top - if visiting make sure and head down to the lower ledges (to the left - follow sign for frost and ledge trails) where there are more views to be had.
