Comments
Comments: An easy 2.8 mile loop to Mt. Battie. Though cloudy it was nice to be up there at a time without cars. Trails were very wet and muddy with running water most of the way up and down - mostly 1/2 inch of water but several places with water/mud was several inches deep. Some water could be avoided some you just have to plow through.

NOTE: On carriage trail at the top of the first upslope the trail takes a sharp left turn that is not very obvious. Where the trail turns there is a stream that is just to your right and a large tree with a blaze on the left - the trail turns left around this tree. At this point, there is an obvious path straight ahead that is blocked with branshes but there is a blue blaze clearly visible up this blocked path. I follwed the tracks of others before me up towards this blaze through lots of blowdowns over/across and through streams following a line of other blue blazes up through the small shallow valley - this stretch does meet back up with the reloated section - once I got through this I backtracked down the actual trail to figure out where I had gotten off the trail - there is a relocation at the point described above. The trail turns sharp left and heads around the tree - head this way through a wet patch with a few blowdowns and you'll run across the blazes - the trail runs up and along edge of the shallow valley keeping you out of the water.
