Yesterday (03/10/2023), starting at the north end of the Roost Trail, I broke out this 0.5 mile segment from ME 113 (Evans Notch Road) to The Roost.
This involved parking at the parking area at the winter-gated north end of ME 113, and then walking the road for about a mile to the trailhead. However, this year the one-mile road walk is made easier since ME 113 is plowed from the gate to the junction with Wild River Road in order to facilitate work being done near the suspension footbridge.
BE AWARE that although the winter gate might be open during the work week, the road is NOT open to the public. You still need to park at the winter gate.
