 | Comments: |
Being south-facing and lower in elevation, the iron rung portion of the Beehive Trail was almost 100% free of snow and ice. Only a small area of the stuff near the top that is easily avoidable. The upper part of the Bowl Trail was mostly snow and ice free, but one farther down and fully in the trees, the footway was covered in frozen granular snow, scattered ice floes, and a thin layer of fresh snow from the previous night.
Great views from the iron rung climb and the Beehive's summit itself, and I saw a surprising number of people who did or were going to do the famous climb. |
