Beautiful day for a first winter ascent of Old Speck. A nice, solid snowshoe track has been established with approx 1 to 2 inches of fresh light powder on top. Upper elevations were quite drifted over in several spots and trail has a couple of tricky spots to follow. Between myself and the crew of four as well as another solo hiker today the drifts have been well broken and a nice track exists on the drifted portions as well. The eyebrow trail was broken at the bottom but not broken out on the top. |
