Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: At the jct of Rt 27 and Mountain Drive there is a sign about the road being private but clearly they welcome hikers to visit in the parking lot prepared for them 1/3mi down the road. Small-medium sized lot for several cars to park. Don’t know if it gets plowed in winter.

Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails are marked with blue diamonds with “7”s on them. I believe this somehow represents a local land trust or something. Other trails nearby are marked with them as well. As far as I recall, there were no blowdowns and the trails were easy to follow

Comments
Comments: 5th redline of the day after Round Top, Sanders Hill, French Mtn, and Phillips Mtn. Trails had mostly dried out by this point in the afternoon. I was worried about getting all these trails in before sunset with all the outs and backs that would needed to be done but it was actually quite quick. Allow me to attempt to describe my route:

The Mountain (Main) Trail —> Great Pond Trail to its end —> Great Pond Trail back to —> entirety of Outer Loop —> Long Pond Loop —> out and back on main trail to its end around the summit area —> main trail back to car. I found the guidebook’s vs kiosk’s description a bit ambiguous but I’m fairly certain at this point that the main trail doesn’t end where Long Pond Loop crosses it but rather 0.1mi north where it meets Outer Loop. Maps at most/all jcts with descriptions helped me to decipher this. Beyond this point, it appears to be private property.

Not too much in the way of views. Nicest one was of the sunset from Long Pond Loop. The entire hike was about 4mi with 500ft of rain, taking me 1hr20min to complete.
