Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked at end of access road which begins at the end of Birch Avenue. This road is a bit rough especially at the end. Depending on your vehicle you may want to park at the end of Birch Avenue and walk the road.

Surface Conditions: Wet Trail, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail

Water Crossing Notes: Several brooks and streams but all are small. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Removed lots of blowdowns and brushed .5 miles of the Albany Notch Trail. There are still several blowdowns that remain but branches have been removed so they can just be stepped over or ducked under.

Comments: Albany Notch Trail (from the south),


Great views today. Explored the summit a little. Bushwhacked 1/4 mile through open woods to the southwest corner and found another viewpoint although not nearly as good as the other viewpoints on the mountain.



The first mile of this trail after the gate is very muddy but the trail improvements significantly after that.
