Comments
Comments: First time to Camden Hills and we enjoyed our 7 miles of tramping. We arrived at 10 am and there were just a couple of parking spaces open. As we got ready to hike we watched a few groups start up the trail and several pairs of runners went by too, all quickly past the iron ranger. The Bald Rock Mountain Road is a mulit-use trail, we saw one bicyclist. Bald Rock Mt very nice views for a modest effort. The shelters have had no upkeep and are colasping (actually disgusting rotten) but we did meet a couple that camped near one and said they were nearly eaten alive by mosquitos. We saw a couple families and after we looped over the peak and turned towards Cameron Mountain we didn't see anyone. Pleasant trails. We didnt' see any mountain bikers but we passed by some of their trails no idea if they're bandit trails or real. The spur up to Cameron Mt. is covered with woodchips. The blueberries are getting taken over by growth, need a trim or burn. We picked a few handfuls of sweet blueberries but not enough there to make it a place to purposely go to pick berries I am afraid but I bet it was in the past. Nice to hike on the quiet side of the Camden Hills State Park.
