Comments: Albany Mountain Trail, Summit Spur, albany brook trail

Went out for some new trails and such a beautiful place. The trail maintenance on one side of the mountain is what you wish for on a trail. The beaver dam is a little sketchy and very high with water right now. Once heading up to the summit, saw the view then got to the summit and followed the view spur .3 to the stunning view. Sat there for a snack and then moved back to the albany mountain trail. I decided I had enough time and went down the other side of the mountain. Talk about terrible trail that looks like the forest service is trying to decommission. I havn’t been on such a bad portion of a trail in a while. I thought i was on a terrible brushed in herd path when i started. Got to water bars needs, flooded areas, mud upon mud. Then the old logging roads…. A mess, more brushing issues. Then it is a free frall of how can you not step in mud up past your ankles. Finally you get to a portion that you can clearly see was maintained once before you hit the private road walk. Then turned around and did it again baxk to my car. Went over to albany book trail and headed out to the lake. Met a nice lady named Amy and her two dogs. Got messed up at the slash road but found the trail on a double take and then headed out for the day!
