This was a wonderful hike… plenty of boulders, rocks, and roots. Beautiful scenic ponds and open ledges hiking up Tunk. Great views of the surrounding ponds, mountains, ocean… also a huge wind farm looking north. I was able to see Katahdin still snow capped. I found the hike very enjoyable but for those who don’t hike much may find it a little difficult. Really need to pay attention to your footing, a lot of rocks & roots. Hidden pond trail loop was easy to follow and the ponds are very beautiful. Such clear water… did see a peregrine falcon flying above the pond going up to Tunk. Excellent hike. 5.15 mile adventure. |
