I heard Flying Mountain was rewarding little peak for short hike with lot of bang for the buck. This report was indeed correct. I scooted up this little peak just before sunset and enjoyed splendid views of Southwest Harbor and Somes Sound. It would have been even better had it not been overcast, but still worthwhile even with overcast. I did it as 1.5 mile out and back visiting both bumps. This hike is short, but trail is fairly rough and includes many stairs might be bit rough for some folks. |
