This was best day for a big hike in extended period of raw temps, scattered showers and overcast skies. Was not a blue-bird skies, but clear and sunny enough for a great day out on some open ledge type peaks in Acadia NP. It was quite breezy on summits, but did not require too much layering. Out route was 6 miles round trip taken at relaxed pace and spending time to enjoy the summits. The descent off of Gilmore was quite rocky and steep, but not steep enough to require any iron rungs. |
