Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bickford Brook needed to be carefully crossed - it was *almost* impassable due to high water. Please look upstream for other crossing locations. The Bickford Slides Loop is not easy to follow but looked cool.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No issues but some mileage on the signs would be nice.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: 1, unleashed, was very friendly but would advise against unleased dogs per the regulations. C'mon people. Boomers of course.
Bugs
Bugs: Yes, bugs were present, but they should die again with the cold on 4/28, 4/29
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: A few pieces of apparel here and there.

Comments
Comments: Gorgeous day. First .6mi was easy to the trail intersection of Bickford Brook/Bickford Slide Loop.

Crossing brook was difficult (See above) but kept dry after 15 minutes of attempts.

Trail climbs steeply and then mellows but the last .3 of a mile on Blueberry Ridge trail before you get to really nice clearings is relatively difficult - mostly because of the exposed, wide rocks that are wet from water flow, and lots of leaves covering them. This is only at 1000' of elevation, so tons of leaves.

The exposed rock face on the ridge is gorgeous with a cool loop around the "summit". Different spots will show west/southwest/northwest and south/southeast viewpoints.

Note: I would not do this trail in damp or wet conditions as the top 1/3 of the mile would be annoying.

After the "summit" , I continued on for a 1/4 of a mile or so, looking up toward Spruce & Speckled. I didn't have a full lunch with me so I turned around and headed down. Great day, great weather, few bugs but not bothersome. They did bite, albeit sparingly!
