Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking for this 8-9 mile loop is at Brickett Place, where the NPS now has a visitor's center with toilets. Free parking today!

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Standing/Running Water on Trail

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bickford Brook seemed low, so crossings were easy. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: BBT in great shape. BRT was lots of wet, slippery rocks and ledges, so slow for descending. Only a few minor blowdowns. 
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: BBT would be easy for any pooch. BRT is challenging.

Bugs: Mosquitoes around the parking lot.

Comments: An excellent Evans Notch loop. Maybe because of the muggy weather and worse forecast, I met only two other hikers. The Ranger was selling the Chatham Trail Association's fine map of Evans Notch - well worth $5.
