Water Crossing Notes: Some water but easy rock hopping
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Doing the trail in a clockwise direction, I found the signs on the ascension to be very clear. It was a different story on the way down (still clockwise). This shot me out on a snowmobile trail/road which was muddy, with soft sand and I went off trail at least three times, due to lack of signage or confusing signs. Very frustrating! Also, I'm not a fan of hiking on roads in the woods. I head to the woods to take trails, not roads.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw two dogs on the trail. The first was a German Shephard (or mix) off leash but grabbed by the owner thankfully before he got to me. He was quite aggressive - barking and lunging. Not cool! I don't know why people bring dogs like this on the trail, especially off leash. It could scare the crap out of someone (or worse) not comfortable with dogs. The second was a sweet little friendly dog on leash.
Bugs
Bugs: Some bugs, but very few and not yet annoying.

Comments: Round Top Trail - Rome

I wasn't a big fan of this trail. The views weren't anything great (though the time of year is a big factor) until the top and that was nice, but nothing spectacular. I hated the hiking on the snowmobile trail and if I were forced to do this hike again, I would go down the same way I went up- clockwise to the top and then down the same way to avoid the snowmobile trail / road.
