Went up blue blaze trail, rather steep after muddy sections. Once it opens up views are very cool…. Can see 100 mile wilderness mountains all the way to Katahdin. Steep drop off to the right as you climb…. Once to the top of Little Chick Hill you can see Big Chick and it’s massive cliffs. A rather steep decent, then a climb up the cliff of Big Chick. Views over to Acadia National Park are grand… visibility was perfect. Very windy so care was taken climbing while the cliffs was to my right. Eventually got to summit where there is a panoramic view of the surrounding area with ANP in the distance. Elevation over 1100 ft. Took access rd down for a quick decent. Great day. |
