This was a great loop hike that went over 4 peaks, one very spectacular waterfall, and a total ascent of 2100 ft plus. Went up the bald pk trail to bald peak. Then over to Parkman mtn. Then a very steep decent only to go back up to Gilmore peak. Down again to a cool little bridge crossing and then the ascent to Sargent mtn. Excellent views on all 4 peaks…. Very windy and cold. I’m sure it was below freezing with the windchill because there was ice in areas you had to maneuver around. Down Sargent south ridge trail to hadlock brook trail…. When you get to the carriage road crossing there was a spectacular waterfall after yesterday’s rain. Then hadlock brook trail to trailhead. 5.3 mile loop hike that is pretty rugged. A lot of climbing and trails are very rocky & rooty. Wild ANP! |
