Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easy
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lower sections of Twin Brook Trail will need to be trimmed back as young vegetation aggressively fills in logging cuts.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Scramble near the summit is doable for young and nimble dogs. No water available going up Burnt Meadow, but Twin Brook Trail had plenty of water. In the parking lot, we meet the SWEETEST pup Nora going for her first ever hike. If you're reading this, I hope she enjoyed it!
Bugs
Bugs: 1 deer tick found on the wife's pants, otherwise a few flies have woken up, but they weren't bothersome

Comments
Comments: Great conditions overall, especially for early April. Trail was mostly dry and in great shape. There's still a bit of snow near the summit on the Twin Brook Trail, but it was easy to navigate without traction and will be gone in a few days. There are a few muddy spots down low on the Twin Brook Trail, but they can be navigated via root/rock hopping. A few areas with significant leaves that haven't broken down yet, but should be with a few more week's foot traffic. The Twin Brook Trail does switchback a few times in a few places, and with the leaves it can be a little tricky to follow.
