Amazingly minimal loss of snow as compared to when I skied here last Sunday. Area could have easily been open again this weekend, but a good business decision to call it a season rather than lose money with minimal late-season ticket sales.
Still continuous snow coverage on the three main snowmaking trails. Firm in the shade, soft in the sun. Some areas of blue ice that hadn't softened due to temperatures only touching around 40 with a good breeze. Snowshoes worked well, as did skis from what I could see. Good time to get this peak right now (outside of ski season and bike season). Good views of the Presidentials and Mahoosucs from the various on-trail vistas. |
