This trail has a little bit of every condition. Snowshoes for the walk to the trailhead; switched to Hillsounds for about the first mile since it was mostly hard ice/bare, then snowshoes all the way to the peak with the majority of the trail covered in slushy snow. Someone postholed the heck out of the ridges, so tried to smooth it out as much as I could. One steep section has mostly exposed slippery roots and pine needles and very little snow/ice, so there was a bit of frustrating switching between snowshoes/spikes on the way down. Take caution. |
