Amos Mountain, Whiting Hill in Lovell, ME
A lovely early spring hike in the Greater Lovell Land Trust's Heald and Bradley Ponds Reserve. We wore spikes for part of the walk but could have gotten by without them. Northern slopes and sheltered sections still have a few inches of spring snow. South-facing slopes and hardwood areas are mostly dry ground. We saw quite a few very recently Pileated Woodpecker holes. |
