 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Be sure to park in the lot at the end of the road which is past the trailhead. Please don’t park along the road or in front of the trail sign. |
 | Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |
 | Recommended Equipment: |
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All are easy, but be careful of the wet, mossy rocks. |
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Bog bridges up top have seen better days and some of the blazes could use a fresh coat (though trail is pretty easy to follow regardless). |
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw two labs who absolutely loved the water. |
 | Bugs: |
The black flies and gnats were out above roughly 3000 feet or so (basically the alpine and sub-alpine zone). But down in the actual woods there was nothing. Kind of odd, but we saw the same thing on Boott Spur a few weeks ago. |

Love this hike. The first few miles along the stream are beautiful, and the last mile or so is spectacular. Picked it thinking it would be a less crowded option for the holiday weekend since the trailhead is off the beaten path, but still saw a fair amount of other people (though nearly all were semi-locals). |
