 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The south to north road to the left of Little Kennebago Lake has two washed out culverts - was able to get over in a pickup truck, but it bottomed out an SUV a little. Looks like they intend to replace them soon. Probably easier to take the road on the other side of the lake. Was able to park at 2,600 or 2,700 feet. Some logging a few miles below that - low clearance vehicles probably not a good idea. |

 | Comments: |
Took logging road up to an obvious left herdpath/old road, maybe around 3,000 or so feet. Followed that, which became an obvious herd path to the ridge at around 3,400 feet. Lots of random herd paths that seem to go in cirlces in the col - opted to bushwhack toward Kennebago, eventually picking up a good herd path just out of the col. Returned to the col, dropped down slightly, bushwhacked back to original logging road, then followed that to the herd path (quite faint, but open woods) to Whitecap canister (logging road turns into a moderate spruce forest instantly if you overshoot the herd path entrance). |
