Comments
Comments: Decided to try a new route up Sargent - Amazing fews along the rigdleine today some of the best I've ever seen. Giant Slide Trail offers rock scrambles over, around, and under rocks as you head up Sargent Brook. Lots of interesting little pools. A little mud along the way - some of the rocks you use crossing back and forth over the brook were a bit slick but brook easy to get across. Note that trail sign for Sargent northwest trail is missing and trail direction is noted by hand writing on sign with arrows. At the 4 way junction 1.4 miles in you will turn left, head over the brook and up the slope. Walk up and down Sargent and Penobscot mountains has to be one of the best ridge walks in New England.
