AT, side trails, and Caribou Pond Snowmobile Pass
AT from CVR and the side trails to the summits are in excellent shape, well maintained, and well signed. From Abraham we back tracked almost to the Spaulding Lean-to to pick up the snowmobile pass mapped out in OSM. Snowmobile pass is not marked (except to a few ribbons) or maintained. I doubt it's passable by a smowmobile. We followed the smowmobile trail through open woods, spruce forest, and a very web bog down to logging roads in Caribou valley. Logging roads were very over grown and crossed too many brooks to count. At Caribou pond we picked up CVR for an easy walk back to the car. |
