Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of parking in the old gravel pits near Abol Bridge.

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bridges over Abol Stream and also over Katahdin Stream. Two other easy brook crossings. Water levels are very high on Nesowadnehunk Stream, cannot ford at this time, used Highwater Bypass Trail.

Trail Maintenance Notes: This is my section of the A.T. Cleared 15 blowdowns with my chainsaw on 5 miles of trail.

Dog-Related Notes: This section of the A.T. enters Baxter State Park, no pets allowed.

Bugs: Mosquitoes and black flies, bug spray kept them away.

Comments: Overcast day with temps around 60, no rain. great day to do trail work. Trail is in good shape for the hiking season. Still wet and muddy in places due to the very snowy winter and wet spring we have had this year. Hope we get a nice summer.
