Lots of ticks down low on the Cold Brook Trail, particularly on the logging road portions. Lots of black flies out today along the Red Rock Trail. Mosquitoes on Miles Notch were downright nasty, couldn’t even stop to catch your breath. |

| Comments: |
Long, hot, buggy loop in the eastern Whites today. Trails were in generally good shape aside from a tough to navigate section of the Cold Brook Trail right before the Evergreen Link, a few patches of snow right before the summit of Speckled, and one or two major blowdowns on the Miles Notch Trail. Was nice to finally hike with summer conditions again, minus the bugs. |
