Always wanted to check this ladder trail out, glad I did. No snow left here, and it looked like only shaded areas in Acadia NP had patches of snow left. Mostly dry, at least where it counted. I was picturing something more radical, at worst you only have 10-15 foot stretch of near vertical ladder/ ledge combo at a time before getting to a decent sized flatter ledge to rest. Most unnerving parts were actually the 2 foot wide sideway ledges to cross. Although a fall would be bad news, the trail is well designed and with care you should avoid that fate. Unless you freeze up with exposure or are very short a younger kid, this trail is worth a go! |
