Comments
Comments: Got an unexpected morning to kill, headed to my favorite small mountain. Parked at the Brook Trail lot, walked up the road to the Loop Trail. Loop Trail is awesomely steep and rugged, with good rock scrambling at the top and a fun fissure to crawl through. Mud was minimal, and weather was fantastic. Had the summits to myself, sat by the pond and had lunch in the sun for half an hour or so. There were no airplane contrails, no lawnmowers, no cars, no noise at all except the call of birds and the gurgle of the stream. I could have been the only person in the world; it was pretty sweet. I had never taken Parker Ridge before, so I headed down that way. Real nice trail, heads up over an open ridge, then takes a relatively moderate descent back to Brook Trail lot. Easier footing than Loop or Brook Trail, and if ascending this trail the view down to the pond is really nice. Awesome morning, saw five folks on my way out, other than that saw no one all morning.
