This is a nice hike, even if my views were nada thanks to the clouds. I had planned to hike OJI as well, but the constant threat of rain made me skip it (turns out if I had done it, the extra time might have meant it cleard by the time I got to N Brother, but oh well). I had planned on hiking it clockwise as my main goal was N Brother, but I read it was recommended to do it the other way due to the Coe slide. If it had been dry I don't think it would have mattered, but wet I'm glad I did it that way, because there are two 30 - 40 foot sections of granite face that were very slippery and tricky to go up; going down might have meant just sliding on your butt. The climb up Coe is steep, and the final ascents to both Brothers have their steep sections, but the ridge walk was pleasant and pretty easy. I was rewarded with clearing and views on the descent of N Brother, and a very nice lunch at Teardrop Pond. Saw only 2 people. Managed to not lose new phone. |
