 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
As noted previously, the road is plowed for 2.6 miles due to logging activities. I was able to drive on the snowmobile-packed road a little further to 2.8, where I parked at a fork just before the “gravel pit†on the topo map. From there, it is 2.2 miles on foot to the normal summer trailhead. |

 | Comments: |
Snowmobile traffic made the first 4 miles a breeze. From the turnoff near Snow Mtn Pond, the trail was unbroken but very easy to follow due to flagging. I followed what seemed to be a newer logging road for a bit, and it got me to the ridge at 3050’ above the pond. Lots of moose sign in the woods above there! |
