 | Comments: |
The trail was broken for about 1.5 miles. After that, breaking trail was not difficult: a few inches of snow under a thin crust. Although we broke through in places, especially on the way down. The exposed ledges on Little Baldpate and E. Baldpate were well coated with ice. I really recommend full crampons. This approach was a bit easier than the AT from Rte 26, according to one of our companions who was turned back by the ice and exposure a week ago. |
