A short trail up to an amazing pond. A number of stretches with running water on the trail. Only a small amount of snow on the trail beginning about a quarter mile below the Pond. The upper section is fairly steep and you're climbing up an over numerous rocks - Rocks were wet and in some places snow covered but generally I had good footing - didn't need traction but will be needed given more snow or when lower temps bring ice. Given high winds I opted not to go to the summit but did hike part way up on the open ledges. On these open ledges above the pond ice was starting to form on the rocks making them slick in spots. For those planning on hikes to any of the summits in the area light traction would be advisable |
