 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I drove in on east inlet road in Pittsburgh, NH for 6.2 mi. from Rt. 3. I parked at a road leaving on the right just before the bridge over East Inlet. East Inlet road is rougher than I had remembered and was a bit of a push for my small car due to some washouts and culvert issues. Very doable though. |

The road where I parked leads up the Northwest slope of the peak. I followed the roads on foot up to roughly 3000 feet. I then bushwhacked in nice open woods towards the western bump. The going got a bit steep and thick closer to the ridge. I followed the ridge towards the eastern peak/highpoint, encountering some thick going. The highpoint is recognized in the fashion of most NH 3k bushwhack peaks. However, the recognized highpoint is placed north of the highpoint, making is hard to find. I pushed around and enjoyed some spectacular views, the best of which looking towards the Bigalows passed the Tim Pond area.
On the return I chose to check out the stateline, to look of a possible recognized slope point. The stateline is marked, but I noted nothing associated with peakbagging. I returned to the roads to descend.
This rates as one of my favorite trailess peaks. |
