Comments
Comments: A few nearly full width puddles on road walk to AT. AT was fairly dry to the campsite, then wet for the balance of the trailed portion of the hike. Some mud, but generally minor. Took herd path to Redington from behind the high point on South Crocker - very easy to follow over small subpeak to boundary cut. Take right, continue around a curve, then the herd path drops off downhill to the left (whereas the boundary cut wants to continue to a height of land). If you keep your eyes on the footbed, it's pretty easy to follow through the woods, across the clearcut, and to the logging road. At height of land on logging road, cairn marks reentry into woods. Again, watching footbed helps make for generally easy navigation (though there are a few herd paths that come and go on this section). Canister logbook (placed by property owner) is located near the Crockers side of the view clearing. Followed herd paths down to fourwheeler trail, then to logging roads, then back to Caribou Valley Road. Cairns generally mark the road walk, but having a satellite image marked up ahead of time would make for very easy navigation.
