Up the Marston and Mt Coe trails to the bottom of the Coe slide no problems. The Coe slide has running water at the bottom and wet rocks above. Slippery as expected, care is needed but the slide is definately passable. Mt Coe trail over Coe to South Brother mostly dry with minor water. Mt Coe trail into the coll towards North Brother is dry BUT there is standing water at the bottom. As the trail rises it becomes a stream and about half the climb to the summit is in the running water. I stayed mostly dry but a change of socks at the top was welcome.
Fort Mt bushwack. Cairns lead to the scrub entrance. From there the trail is mostly grown in. Long sleeves and pants a must. The herd path is well walked but the brush obscures it and a slow and deliberate push thru is needed. Minor water in the coll, cairns and faded blazes lead to the ridge about half way between the two high points on Fort. I had no problem following the trail. 45 minutes over 50 minutes back. More info send me an email.
This loop was done in 9 hours, the decent off the ridge down the Marston trail to the beaver pond is very steep. |
