Some snowshoe travel would do wonders to the trail but of 13 people on the trail none had the good sense to bring snowshoes - myself included. The beginning of the trail looks well traveled (and it is) and well packed-down (my excuse, anyway, for not bringing the shoes).
Only a few icy spots and the trail is perfect for snowshoes all the way - but it doesn't look anyone has been using them since the last snowfall and the upper half is "choppy" with coverage up to 2ft. Barebooting is perfectly feasible. |
