Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Was able to drive the CVR with a Silverado, 1 mile past the AT crossing, to a point marked by a Y jct, just before a significant bridge. As we were getting ready a guy in a Tacoma came by and continued up the road another half mile, thru some pretty gnarly washouts, before bailing and pulling over. I'd been up the CVR a couple weeks before in my low clearance Subaru and could only go as far as the steel bridge at 3.9 miles.

Comments
Comments: The route was easy to follow-all major jcts were clearly marked with either cairns or wooden arrows on the ground. Biggest surprise of the day was to find a full fledged trail from about 3600', leading from the logging road, all the way to the summit. It wasn't blazed but was as good as any official trail. As we walked thru the bowl in the center of the logging area, rimmed by high peaks all around, I couldn't help but wonder if this was what it was like hiking in the White Mts 10-20 yrs after the height of the logging there. The extent of the logging was truly impressive. We celebrated our final NEHH with a couple from Ottawa who shared our bottle of champagne. Thanks for the pictures!
